When a family arrives in a new environment, understanding the language can make a difference at school, in friendships and in everyday confidence. My Spanish classes help children and teenagers develop the language tools they need to take part, ask questions, follow instructions and express their ideas.
Lessons are adapted to the student’s level, from A1 to C2, and their specific circumstances. I don’t follow the same formula for everyone: I look at what each student needs to strengthen and choose activities that connect with their interests and the situations where they use Spanish.
Young learners engage best when they understand the purpose of an activity and can take an active part. That’s why lessons may include stories, language games, conversations, pictures, reading, presentations and small projects.
These tasks develop vocabulary, comprehension, speaking and writing without separating language from how it is used. Grammar is explained clearly when it helps overcome a difficulty or express an idea more effectively.
Some students need a general foundation in Spanish. Others can already speak but struggle with reading, writing or understanding school instructions. Lessons can focus on these needs and complement their work at school.
