Everyone comes to Catalan from a different starting point. You may hear it every day but not speak it yet; need it at work; want to understand your children’s school life better; or hope to express yourself more accurately. Private lessons allow us to build a course around your own circumstances.
I work with students at every level, from A1 to C2. Individual support makes it easier to start from scratch, organise knowledge you’ve picked up informally or explore specific aspects of the language in depth.
Before designing your course, we’ll assess what you understand, how you express yourself and when Catalan appears in your life. We’ll also consider the languages you already speak, as they may provide useful reference points but also lead to specific confusions.
From there, we’ll set priorities. The programme will follow a clear progression while allowing new situations to be included as they arise.
Individual attention lets me identify recurring mistakes and the strategies you use when you can’t find a word. Corrections do more than point out an incorrect form: they explain the difference and suggest ways to incorporate the right expression into your speech.
We can also spend more time on what you find difficult without having to keep up with a group.
You can take lessons in person in Barcelona and nearby areas, study online or alternate between the two. The content stays coordinated, so switching formats won’t interrupt your learning.
Many people know words and understand parts of conversations but switch languages when they reply. In our sessions we’ll create opportunities to keep speaking Catalan, with gradual support and skills you can transfer to real situations.
Tell me your level, why you want to learn Catalan and your availability. We’ll design an individual programme that translates your goals into specific, useful learning activities.
